PRefChem is highly committed to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and has taken additional measures to ensure the safety of the employees and the protection of the surrounding communities.
Since safety is at the forefront of everything that we do, we have taken serious and swift actions since the government of Malaysia declared the status of the COVID-19 situation in the country in early 2020. We strive to comply with the authorities' SOPs and directives, and we continuously create awareness programs on the new norms, infection control and vaccination. PRefChem has also formed its own COVID-19 Task Force and Command Centre for internal case management.
One of the key milestones in our efforts to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus is by participating in the Government’s first industry vaccination rollout which took place in Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC). The initiative is part of the Fourth Phase of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Program.
In compliance with the Government’s concentrated efforts to contain the risk of clusters from the workplace, we have facilitated working from home for all non-essential employees and utilisation of digital platform for meetings to reduce the risk of potential spread at work. Enforcement of using masks at the workplace has also been implemented for our employees who are involved in essential services and have to be on-site.
At PRefChem, we not only ensure the safety of our employees but also place importance on the safety of the surrounding communities. In order to ensure the surrounding communities are protected from the COVID-19 virus, we have provided safety kits, comprising of reusable masks, hand sanitisers and dispensers to some of the schools within the district of Pengerang.
As one of the main operators within Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC), PRefChem will continue to play its role in ensuring the safety of the employees and communities are protected.
