The Steam Cracker Complex comprises of cracker, Methyl Tert-Butyl Ether (MTBE) and Benzene Units; where saturated hydrocarbons are broken down into smaller, often unsaturated, hydrocarbons.
This is where the Propane, LPG and Naphtha feedstock produced by the Refinery are used for cracking to produce Ethylene, Propylene and Butadiene.
The pyrolysis cracking and recovery facilities have a combined annual production capacity of more than 3 million metric tonne per annum (MTPA) of Ethylene, Propylene, C4 olefins and aromatic products. These products will be further upgraded in the Petrochemical Complex.
- The Ethylene and Propylene produced will be fed to the respective C2 and C3 chain process units.
- Butadiene will be extracted from mixed C4 streams in Butadiene Extraction Unit (BDU).
- MTBE and Raffinate-products are produced from the MTBE Unit.
