One of the objectives of PRefChem as a socially responsible organisation is to positively impact the surrounding communities of Pengerang. With the ongoing battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, PRefChem took the initiative to protect the safety and wellbeing of the school students and teachers in Pengerang from the threat of the COVID-19 virus.
PRefChem donated COVID-19 Safety Kit comprising of thermometers, hand sanitizers, wall mounted dispensers and facial masks to nine schools in Pengerang. About 3,000 students and teachers from SMK Adela, SMK Pengerang Utama, SK Sungai Kapal, SJK (C) Tai Sin, SK Punggai, SK Tanjung Surat, SK Sungai Papan, SK Tanjung Buai and SMK Tanjung Pengelih are expected to benefit from these safety kits.
A handover ceremony between PRefChem and the schools were held on 31 January 2021 at the Kota Tinggi District Education Office. PRefChem, represented by En. Abd Khalif M Saleh, General Manager, HR Strategy, Planning & Organisation Design Job Management, handed over the donations to the Kota Tinggi District Education Officer, Tuan Haji Mohamad Fadil Ishak and the nine school principals.
The handover ceremony took place under strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) issued by the Government.
